About me

My name is Piotr Patek and I am a third-year student of Automation and Robotics at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology at the Warsaw University of Technology.

Since high school, I’ve been interested in electronics and programming, which I’ve seen as tools that allow us to interact with the world around us. That’s why I chose robotics as my field of study—because robotic systems are all about helping us, humans, influence our environment.

Over the years, I’ve gained experience in the following areas:

  • Low-level programming
  • Object-oriented programming
  • Electronics
  • Design and programming of embedded systems
  • Process modeling and control theory
  • Developing ML/DL models

I’m currently the Vice President of the Bionik Robotics Student Association at my faculty, where I coordinate the development of our six-legged walking robot, which I talk more about here .

My tech stack
#

  • Microcontrollers: STM32, ESP32
  • Programming languages: Python, C, C++, Bash
  • Frameworks: ROS2, ros2_control, esp-idf
  • Libraries: Eigen, numpy, TensorFlow/Keras, PyTorch
  • Robotic system simulators: Gazebo, Webots

Tools I use daily:
#

  • VS Code, CLion, PyCharm
  • Linux (Ubuntu)
  • Git
  • STM32CubeMX, STM32CubeProgrammer
  • Altium Designer
